Resume:here casually choose conscious 68 patients who have dental ulcer after malignant tumor chemotherapy to be divided 2 groups.the contrast group use borax compound solution to gargle,the inspected group take strong acidic electrolyzed water to gargle 6 times a day before sleeping and eating.the result:the effectiveness rate of inspected group is 100%,and the cure rate of that is 76.48%.the contrast’s is 52.4% and 8.82%.through the statistics x2=36.39,p〈0.01.the difference of result shows that the acidic electrolyzed water is superior to the borax compound solution in the treatment of dental ulcer.

The dental ulcer is usual complication for chemotherapeutic patients after 7-14 days.if no treatment,it can make patients painful to infect the respiratory and digestive system.for the better treatment method,we have satisfied result to contrastive research between acidic electrolyzed water and borax compound solution in 1998.

1.documentary and method

1.1clinic documentary

The ulcer area is under 1cm2 for conscious patient after chemotherapy.here are 68 cancer patients who have two ulcer places,including 16 leukemia patients,3 multiple myeloma,7 malignant lymphoma,29 lung cancer,6 liver cancer,3 bone cancer,2colon cancer and 2 kidney cancer.the medicine are mitomycin,navelbine,adriamycin,methotexate,cytosine arabinoside,etoposide and mitoxantrone. The patoents are divided 2 groups,each group has 34 cases.the inspected group(male20,female 14 age:19-66 ).the contrast groups(male 23,female 11,age 21-63)without any difference for age and sex in statistics.

1.2method

Two groups take antibiotic and vitamin to treat according to the result of bacterial culture,please gargle with leukewarm before eating and sleeping.the inspect group take electrolyzed water 50ml in 13 minutes 6times a day.as is same with contrast group.inspect the ulcer condition at 10 o’clock every day and listen the patient’s offer.

1.3the standard of treatment

Cure:ulcer disappear in 1 week without any hurt.

Better:ulcer partially disappear relieving hurt

Non:ulcer not disappear in 1 week even more severe.

3.Discussion

The dental ulcer appear in the decreased immunity.the absolute value of neutrophil reach the lowest after 7-14 days for chemotherapeutic patients with further impairment of bone marrow hematopoietic function,and less eating and more microbial group generation leading to weak the self-clean function to cause stink and to hurt oral mucosa reaching to the dental ulcer.

The method of gargling and containing in mouth is easily accepted by patients,because the liquid continually circulate and shock in mouth to make microbe attaching on the oral mucosa and dent out of mouth.if with the mingle of tongue,it can relieve the stink.

borax compound solution as traditional gargling liquid includes borax and bicarbonate yellow which has weak antimicrobial effect for skin and mucosa,it could not easily penetrate into skin and slowly discharge after absorption and being toxin after repeatedly having.
